Past Perfect Tense

Use Past perfect tense for the sentence that is about to finish first and use Past indefinite tense that is about to finish later.

जो वाक्य पहले समाप्त होने वाला है उसके लिए Past  Perfect Tense का उपयोग करें और Past Indefinite Tense का उपयोग करें जो बाद में समाप्त होने वाला है।

AFFIRMATIVE SENTENSES IN PAST PERFECT TENSE

Subject + had + Verb 3rd form + object

Examples

He had taken the food before he went to office. (ऑफिस जाने से पहले उसने खाना ले लिया था।)

She had played the game before she went to attend the examination. (परीक्षा में भाग लेने जाने से पहले उसने गेम खेला था।)

The students had played the match before they when to school.(स्कूल जाने से पहले छात्रों ने मैच खेला था।)

The patient had died before the doctor came to hospital.(डॉक्टर के अस्पताल आने से पहले ही मरीज की मौत हो गई थी।)

NEGATIVE SENTENSES IN PAST PERFECT TENSE

Subject + had + not + Verb 3rd form + object

Examples

She had not completed his task before the teacher came.(शिक्षक के आने से पहले उसने अपना काम पूरा नहीं किया था।)

I had not attended the interview before 6 p.m.(मैं शाम 6 बजे से पहले साक्षात्कार में शामिल नहीं हुआ था)

I did not come to home after you had come.(आपके आने के बाद मैं घर नहीं आया।)

You did not attended the interview after i had reached there.(मेरे वहाँ पहुँचने के बाद आप साक्षात्कार में शामिल नहीं हुए।)

Kavita did not go to Delhi after the train had arrived.(ट्रेन आने के बाद कविता दिल्ली नहीं गई।)

Had + Subject + Verb 3rd form + object

Wh Words + Had + Subject + Verb 3rd form + object

Examples

Had you taken the breakfast before 6 A.M .(क्या आपने सुबह 6 बजे से पहले नाश्ता लिया था।)

Had I reached the school before the examination started.(क्या मैं परीक्षा शुरू होने से पहले स्कूल पहुँच गया था |)

Did you get any suitable job after you has completed this course.(इस कोर्स को पूरा करने के बाद क्या आपको कोई उपयुक्त नौकरी मिली |)

Where did you join the job after you had selected in SSC.(एसएससी में चयनित होने के बाद आप नौकरी में कहां शामिल हुए।)

Where did you not go in Delhi after you had selected the holiday package.(हॉलिडे पैकेज चुने जाने के बाद आप दिल्ली में नहीं गए थे।)
